Anand Vidyalaya
Anand Vidyalaya, Shakti Nagar
After the positive results shown by the Anand Vidyalaya (Gurgaon), the members of Dhyan foundation thought of increasing the awareness of charity and service by opening the branch of Anand Vidalaya in Shakti Nagar.

It started on 23rd November 2009 with a handful of volunteers. With varied backgrounds, the students’ age and classes vary from 5 to 10 years from nursery to class 5th.

The students were primarily from government schools and the teachers main focus was on clearing their basics before starting to teach them more complex subjects. It took a complete year to clear their basics and form a firm foundation to start teaching subjects. They also help them in clearing their doubts about various subjects and increasing their general knowledge so that they can cope up in their respective schools and acquire good marks.

The teachers conduct classes on daily basics and provide them with all other basic facilities. They also conduct other activities apart from regular studies. Langar takes place twice a week and activities like art and craft, antakshri, musical programmes are conducted which attract many children.

As the school is gaining a better hold in the area, it is attracting students from the neighbourhood areas too. Anand Vidyalaya, Shakti Nagar believes that providing for things may help them lead a better life temporarily, but  education would ensure a better, fulfilling and respectful life in the long run; not only for the students but also for the country by enabling sustained growth.
